Sylvester Stallone Is Now In Training For Rambo 5

Sylvester Stallone Is Now In Training For Rambo 5 image
The outer reaches of franchise extremities are being reached by Sylvester Stallone. No star in the history of Hollywood has been so dedicated towards squeezing blood out of a stone, so if there are more installments to come, they will come. Which is why no one was surprised to hear him discuss a fifth Rambo film, but we all figured age would be a factor in that project falling by the wayside. Well, guess again!

In an interview with Vulture, Sylvester Stallone revealed that he was currently in training for a fifth Rambo.
"I’m getting ready for that. I’m starting to work out. I’m going to be appropriately vicious and all that stuff, but intellectual. A killer with a heart. Smart, yet stupid. Tall, yet short. Broad, but thin. You know what I mean. We’re going to try to cover all the boundaries."
Well, that devolved into gibberish quickly. You'll recall that Rambo, the oddly-named fourth chapter in the series, ended with Stallone's heroic killer (yeah, just go with it) finally ambling home to the Rambo estate in the middle of America, to reunite with his father, maybe kids, maybe someone else. John Matrix? Whatever the case, it seemed like a fitting end to the story. The only reasons Stallone would have to return to this character (other than money and sentimentality) is to provide a more final, conclusive end. There's no poetry without blood in the Rambo universe.

The original pitch for part five involved human trafficking and a No Country For Old Men vibe. Stallone's discussed this for years, however, so maybe that's changed. Regardless, he's definitely got an in with Millennium, who funded all of his recent movies and would gladly cut him a check again for a low budget Rambo, especially if it approaches the gore-fest of the last one. That one, by the way, grossed $113 million worldwide. However, Sly's stumbled as of late: just about no one went to see Bullet To The Head and The Expendables 3 is doing surprisingly poor business this weekend. Do you still gamble on the guy?

Well, of course you do. Just doing another sequel is boring. But doing a FINAL sequel has appeal. John Rambo was used and spit out by the machine in First Blood, bullied and tortured simply for being a soldier. In the second and third films, the machine came calling again, and he answered with an unmatched ferocity. The fourth film, decades later, made it clear that the machine basically abandoned him once again, banishing him to a Third World wasteland. Now that he's back in America, he's likely fighting a different kind of machine, one that's deemed him even less essential before – after all, he's 68, and considering what he's been through, he should be dead. And considering Stallone's age and mileage, he shouldn't be leading action franchises anymore. One more time? Sure Sly, we'll bite.

But Rambo had better be dead at the end of all this. Quit jerking us around.

Tony Bellew: Working with Sylvester Stallone in Rocky movie has inspired me to world title

Liverpool star back to his day job and hunting a third world title shot

Tony Bellew: Working with Sylvester Stallone in Rocky movie has inspired me to world title
Cruiserweight Tony Bellew had a dream assignment in Philadelphia filming Creed, the latest movie in the Rocky series, and insists his acting experience alongside Sylvester Stallone has inspired him and re-enforced his desire to be a world champion ahead of his return to the ring on at the Echo Arena in Liverpool on Friday night.
“It's a lot better taking pretend punches to the face than real ones I can assure you,” said Bellew, who now faces Ivica Bacurin after his original opponent Lubos Suda was forced out with a medical issue.
“But I have missed boxing, really bad. I love fighting, I don't know what it is in me, whether it's a sickness or a gene, but I just love standing in front of another fighter and going for it, they can hurt me and I can hurt them."
Bellew was plucked from the ranks of pro boxers to work alongside Sylvester Stallone, who returned in the movie as Rocky Balboa the trainer, and insisted the acting did have its complexities. "I lifted a lot of weights and did a lot of cardio out there, when it came to the fight scenes, it's very choreographed and it's hard to remember a choreographed fight for 12 rounds, it's a lot of hard work over 16-hour days some times. But amazing," he said.

Bellew, a proud Evertonian, met up with Sylvester Stallone in Philadelphia

It meant a stint in Las Vegas at the Floyd Mayweather-Manny Pacquiao fight last month. “I love being around boxing and being at the Mayweather fight was incredible – I hated Las Vegas – but I loved being around amazing fighters and talking with them, I bumped into Andre Ward who I worked with in the film."

"He's a cool guy, I spent time with him in Philly. But it was great to finally get home and get back into the gym for tonight. The harder the training has got the more intense I have got, so the hunger and desire is still massive.”

Bellew says that the only way to satisfy that hunger is by landing a world title shot this year, and he expects that to be against awkward, talented IBF king Yoan Pablo Hernandez.

"The Hernandez fight is happening – sooner or later,” said Bellew. “I've said a number of times that he is the best fighter in the division, he's the most difficult fighter to beat in the division."

“Who wants to face a 6ft 4in southpaw that can punch a bit? No one. But I do, because I believe you have to fight the best and I am going to put together a game plan with the team on how to pull that win off.”

Bellew’s clash with Bacurin is part of a huge night of action in Liverpool, with Callum Smith taking on Christopher Rebrasse for the vacant WBC Silver super middleweight title and Rocky Fielding meeting Brian Vera for the vacant WBC International supermiddleweight title.

Three-time world title challenger Martin Murray also makes his bow at super middleweight on the card.

Sylvester Stallone Sued for Allegedly Stealing 'Expendables' Script

If you saw Sylvester Stallone's meat-grinder action throwback 'The Expendables' and thought it seemed familiar, that's probably because you've seen other Stallone action movies over the last thirty years. Either that, or you wrote an unproduced script called 'The Cordoba Caper,' which Stallone's screenplay for 'The Expendables' apparently borrowed heavily from without credit. At least that's what screenwriter Marcus Webb is alleging in a new lawsuit he filed in New York on Tuesday.

In the court papers, Webb says he filed a copyright claim on 'The Cordoba Caper' in 2006, and between 2006 and 2009, the script (and its short-story component also called 'The Cordoba Caper') was readily available to anyone in Hollywood to read as an example of his work.

"There can be no dispute that Stallone and/or [co-screenwriter David] Callaham had access to and copied protectable elements of the screenplay," according to the lawsuit.

What are those elements? Both 'Caper' and 'The Expendables' apparently begin with an off-shore rescue that has little connection to the main plot, focus on an elite team of "highly-trained mercenaries" tasked with defeating a "rogue army general of a small Latin American country," and feature a villain named "General Garza." 'The Expendables' came out in August of 2010.

Webb is seeking unspecified damages from his lawsuit. Stallone had no comment on the case through his publicist. 'The Expendables 2' hits theaters in 2012.

Expendables 4 Will Be R-Rated, Promises Sylvester Stallone; 'The Expendables 4' Casts Boxing Champ Manny Pacquiao As Rebel General Villain' The Rock Wants To Join Expendables Team

Expendables 4 Movie News: The next installment in the "Expendables" franchise is going to be grittier. Sylvester Stallone recently promised that Expendables 4 will be rated X. It has also been confirmed that Manny Pacquiao will be playing the victim.

Expendables 4 is set to begin shooting in The Philippines. There was a recent Expendables casting development, when it was learned that Manny Pacquiao was added to the cast as a "Rebel General." There is no word on how big a part the boxing champ will have in the movie.
Fans were disappointed when it came out that The Expendables 3 was going to be rated PG-13 to get younger viewers into the sets. Producer and star Sylvester Stallone says the lack of an R-rating cost the movie many views.
When Crave Online, asked Stallone if he regretted cutting the violence to get the younger demographics, he answered "Absolutely unequivocally yes. I believe it was a horrible miscalculation on everyone's part in trying to reach a wider audience, but in doing such, diminish the violence that the audience expects. I'm quite certain it won't happen again."
The upcoming Expendables 4 movie would be set in the Philippines with Manny Pacquiao as a villain.
According to reports, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone recruited Manny Pacquiao right after his recent bout with Algieri in Macau.
The Movie Daily reported that Manny Pacquiao would play the role of a "vicious rebel general".
Youth Health Magazine reported that Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger went to Manny Pacquiao's locker room during the fight against Chris Algieri. They said they were there to wish him good luck, but a spokesperson for Manny Pacquiao said Stallone and Schwarzenegger were there to recruit him for The Expendables 4.
The Rock is also on record as saying he wants to join The Expendables team. He recently told media "I don't want to be on their team and be buddies with them. Fuck that noise. I want to hunt every single one of them down."

Contrary to Internet reports, Sylvester Stallone will not be fighting ISIS in the new 'Rambo' movie Lionsgate/Everett

Sylvester Stallone will not be battling ISIS in the next Rambo sequel, despite inaccurate reports circulating the Internet. Rumors began to swirl Monday morning that the veteran actor-filmmaker would reprise his legendary role as war veteran John Rambo in a new film called Rambo: Last Blood. However, a representative for Stallone denied those claims to Rolling Stone, noting that the actor was not even at the event. "Sylvester Stallone did not attend Comic-Con 2015, and consequently there was no official remark from him regarding Rambo made there at the event," the rep says. "This is not an accurate report."
Various publications have cited Stallone as announcing the ISIS plot during a panel at Comic-Con, which was held in San Diego last week. "We have teams scouting Iraq and parts of Syria where ISIS have their greatest strongholds," the 69-year-old reportedly said during the panel. "We're working with the locals there to help deliver the most intense and realistic Rambo movie experience ever."
While the ISIS plot is erroneous, Stallone seemingly confirmed plans for Rambo: Last Blood in December via Twitter. "Doing Scarpa based on Gangster Greg Scarpa after LAST BLOOD RAMBO," the actor wrote, referencing Scarpa, an upcoming gangster drama based on the infamous mob hitman.

Pound-for-Pound King has allegedly accepted the offer which made two legends smiling as they left the room. The other casts of the Expendables are excited to have Pacquiao in the group. Terry Crews has stated during an interview with Ricky Lo, "Expendables 3 with Manny Pacquiao, you said it right now!". Jean Claude Van Damme who played a role of a villain has expressed his opinion on the idea of having Manny as part of the cast and he said "that would be wonderful".
The eight-division world boxing champion is a local movie star, a recording artist, a pastor, a congressman, a basketball coach and player and now he will possibly be an international film actor. He has experienced acting in film and television wherein he has appeared in nine local productions since year 2000 and has hosted a series of local television shows.
